Our Story

The Great American Beer Hall is located at 142 Mystic Avenue in Medford, MA. Mystic Avenue runs through the heart of Massachusetts’ Metro North and parallel to Interstate-93. Acting as a “gateway to Boston'', Mystic Ave’s potential as a thriving area of commerce and entertainment has long been a vision for the city of Medford.

Our ownership group has deep roots on Mystic Ave, owning and operating a small business since the early 1960's and making local real estate investments ever since. As Mystic Ave becomes a destination for people to live, shop and enjoy entertainment, the GABH seeks to help the city of Medford pioneer this redevelopment and drive sustainable future growth.

The Great American Beer Hall serves as a local gathering spot that brings together the community and catalyzes a long-awaited reinvigoration of Mystic Ave. Patrons come for the GABH’s New England craft selection, stay for its pizza and live music, and return for the community experience. 

The GABH is a 17,000 square foot tap room-style, American craft brewery beer hall that offers a wide array of the most popular craft beers from New England and the broader United States. Spirits, wine, and other beverages are also available. The GABH’s first floor features a 17,000 square foot tap room / beer hall and a 4,800 sq. foot outdoor beer garden. Interior and exterior mezzanine levels round out the facility's design.

Our in-house restaurant, The Lantern, is operated by acclaimed Executive Chef, Nick Dowling. The eatery offers contemporary American dishes – brick-oven style pizza, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, entrees and more.
